As Small Business Week 2023 (October 15-21) draws to a close, it is a unique opportunity for Canadian entrepreneurs to celebrate their successes and plan for the future of their businesses. This annual event provides a valuable platform to explore the latest trends, network with industry experts, and access key resources for the growth of small and medium-sized businesses.
The inspiring successes of our entrepreneurs must be highlighted.
In the Canadian business world, inspiring success stories are emerging, highlighting the courage and determination of local entrepreneurs. Take for example the story of Tetia Myriam BAYORO, MBA, who overcame enormous obstacles to launch CHAP CHAP SNACKS, a business celebrating the rich Ivorian culture in the heart of Ontario. Her remarkable journey reflects the vitality of the CÉSOC entrepreneurial community and testifies to the thriving diversity of companies that contribute to the national economy. Thanks to the CACIA pitch competition, of which she was the winner in the startup category in June 2023, her entrepreneurial adventure continues in style.

Inaugural Conference of the Circular Economy Project Development Laboratory powered by CACIA – CÉSOC Business Community.
At the same time, the recent inauguration of the Circular Economy Project Development Laboratory (Lab.-ÉC) has generated great interest within the Eastern Ontario entrepreneurial community. This innovative initiative is a crucial step towards sustainable and responsible business practices, demonstrating the growing commitment of the SME sector to environmental protection, sustainable development and the adoption of circular business models. In this sense, Lab.-ÉC is now integrated into the process of supporting entrepreneurs and is establishing itself as an essential step in this process in order to think about one's business model in a circular manner from the project ideation phase. We are proud to be able to support more than 40 entrepreneurs in this process by February 2024.
At the heart of our entrepreneurial mission, 48 talented entrepreneurs are thriving from September 2023 to January 2024 within the 4 distinct paths of our incubator. From the ideation phase developed in collaboration with AGORAlliance to the certified programs in innovation and entrepreneurship with uOttawa Professional Development Institute, a total of 48 participants are embracing the culture of innovation and growth. In addition, our Innovation Lab, focused on marketing and business strategies, enthusiastically welcomed 10 innovative minds last September and is actively working to conquer new business horizons. This diversity of talents and backgrounds is a testament to the vitality and richness of our entrepreneurial ecosystem, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to supporting and developing the next generation of successful entrepreneurs.
Collaboration works!
The speedBoost Consultation, an activity organized by the Leadership and Professional Development Center of Collège La Cité in collaboration with the CÉSOC entrepreneurship unit, CACIA – Communauté d’affaires du CÉSOC on October 19, 2023, was a great success. About twenty entrepreneurs booked 25-minute consultation sessions with 4 experts in the fields in demand (Financing, business management and accounting by ToudehFinances Solutions, Digital marketing by TK Digital Agency, Business resilience, access to financing) in order to initiate future consultations and receive sound advice.
Oh yes! It's been a busy week.
